"Island Leader" is a twin screw aluminium commercial vessel, purpose-built for carrier, charter and live lobster transport operations. Featuring a semi-enclosed main working deck and an aluminium wheelhouse on the upper deck, she offers a practical layout with a main deck, foredeck and bridge deck, all constructed in aluminium plate. Frames and stringers are fully welded directly to the hull, with integral fuel tanks including dual aft day tanks and a double bottom tank at midships, providing generous fuel capacity for extended operations.
"Island Leader" is powered by twin Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines with Twin Disc MGX 516 gearboxes and supported by dual Caterpillar generators. She offers extensive storage space throughout, plenty of overnight accommodation including a master cabin, crew and passenger cabins and a galley with dinette.
The vessel is equipped with a 6.6T deck crane and features 23 separate below deck compartments for live lobster transport, making her a versatile and highly capable commercial working platform.
